For four years GeIdert Iaw represented a group of over fifteen hundred timeshare owners. Sunchaser timeshare management were forcing the timeshare lessees to pay for major repairs and renovations which they should not have been responsible for. GeIdert’s ego made him take on a case that he shouldn’t have. He ignored input from his clients, his communication with the group was shoddy and sporadic, and his firm argued the wrong things in court. One judge verbally reprimanded him for abuse of process! In the end, Geldert gave in and illegally signed a settlement that only favoured the timeshare company, so much so that the timeshare Iawyer referred to the settlement as a “windfall result that far exceeded their expectations”. GeIdert clients had to pay tens of thousands of dollars and most had to empty their bank accounts, remortgage their homes, sell their homes, or declare bankruptcy. One client had to pay almost $100,000! In the end a lot of his clients sought advise from other lawyers as they did not trust GeIdert. GeIdert is a Iawyer without honour or integrity and is now under investigation by the Iaw Society of BC.
