Job Description:Medical Office Assistant Miles HR have an exciting full-time opportunity available for a Medical Office Assistant with one of our respectable clients. Details:Location: Vancouver/ Burnaby (split between two clinics)Salary: Competitive Key Duties: Greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone.Optimize patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival; reminding provider and patients of service delays.Comfort patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties; answering patients’ questionsEnsure availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges.Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies.Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.Contribute to team effort.Managing surgical bookings and maintaining the surgical wait list. Ensuring surgical packages are completed in a timely manner and submitted to the hospital on time. Ensuring patients are aware of details pertaining to their surgery.Schedule hospital admissions, tests, scans and outside appointments for patientsObtain external medical reports as required by medical professionalsDeal with incoming and outgoing post.Complete other clerical duties as assigned.Maintain stock of forms and office supplies.Ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean.Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality. Key qualifications and competencies:High school diploma and MOA DiplomaKnowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosisKnowledge of computer and relevant software applicationsKnowledge of general administrative and clerical proceduresCommunication skills – able to listen effectively and express oneself in a clear and articulate mannerInformation collection and management – able to collect, organize and monitor data efficientlyPlanning and organizing – able to multi-task, prioritize and schedule tasks and activitiesAttention to detail – able to produce accurate and high quality workCustomer service skills – able to develop good relationships with patients with a focus on achieving patient satisfactionAdaptability – able to adjust approach to meet changing demands and situations including dealing with diverse peopleConfidentiality – able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards Why should you apply?This is a great opportunity to develop your career with a high-end organization!
