Siru Bari is a remote village in the hilly regions of Nepal where the locals still live off the land. However, the community suffers from severe lack of funds and knowledge needed for improving the living standards and facilities. The youth in the village are highly impacted. Our main goal with this project is to bring better education for the youth and improve their school facilities. We will therefore engage in both construction and educational work at the school.

During the monsoon, when the ground is soft, the school is often affected by land- and mudslides and by domestic cattle entering the school grounds. Therefore, our first task will be to build a fence around the school to protect against these issues. Our second task will be to dig out and construct a playing field for the children and an area for the community to hold gatherings.
The volunteers can also teach English, Math, Sports and/or Music at the school. Interaction with the kids and involving them in cultural exchange activities is encouraged.
