The Developmental Disabilities Association is recruiting contracted Respite Caregivers to work 1:1 with a child with intellectual disabilities in the community (part-time: mostly after school or on weekends, for 1 or 2 weekly 3-6 hour shifts).
Requirements are: First Aid with CPR (valid 3 yrs), vulnerable sector criminal record clearance letter (valid 5 yrs), 2 work references, some training or experience in a field related to developmental disabilities. Wages are $14 or $16/hour (depending on level of support needs).
Current respite needs include:
Sweet 14 year old male with autism and ADHD in Hastings-Sunrise requires an energetic caregiver on Sunday afternoons for community outings, for 4-5 hrs ($14/hr).
Friendly 10 year old male with autism in Marpole, needs an active caregiver on Wednesdays 3-5:30PM (3 hrs payable) for community outings. ($14/hr).
Friendly 12 year old male with autism in Kerrisdale needs an active caregiver on any 1 or 2 weekdays after school (for 3 hrs or so) for community access ($14/hr).
