We are seeking new talent for the full-time role of experienced Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our busy established Thoracic Surgical practice in Vancouver.

We require a detail-oriented, organized and polished individual that is well-groomed with a bright, caring, and outgoing professional personality. ‬
The successful candidate will be working independently in a busy group environment reporting to one surgeon, and must be a team player. Excellent computer skills are required, with intermediate to advanced level user of the Internet, Microsoft Office Applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), etcetera. Experience with Accuro EMR and Zoom software is an asset. The ideal candidate must possess an excellent knowledge of the English language, both written and oral. They additionally posses exceptional time management, flexibility, multi-tasking, and customer service skills. They must be able to respond with courtesy, tact and diplomacy in all interpersonal interactions with patients, surgeons and co-workers.

The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) provides administrative support to the surgeon, supporting the successful operation of the practice. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: electronic patient file creation and accurate maintenance; collection of patient personal and related information; answers busy phones; patient appointment booking/confirmation; prepares paperwork for patient appointments and entering into the EMR and follows up as required; provides forms/paperwork to be completed by the patient; processes patient’s documents, laboratory tests, etcetera, and files results accordingly in patients’ files; booking of patient tests, consultations and referrals; organizing surgeon schedule (i.e. important meetings/ORs/clinics); sorts incoming mail; prepares outgoing mail; photocopying; computer data entry, scanning and filing; proof-reads consult letters; submits BC Medical Service Plan (MSP) billings; protects patients’ files ensuring confidentiality of clients personal information.

Typical work is 40 hours per week, 0830am to 1630pm.
