Room rent barter – Caretaker/House Father/Handyman type

AVAILABLE AUGUST 1st- Barter for part or full rent, and this could be a full-time position for the right candidate to work at this and other properties in Vancouver, if you are handy… Looking for someone to keep an eye on some quiet, clean UBC students and/or young working professionals in a big house, and assistance with household chores, showings, making sure chores assigned to the lodgers are done and takes out garbage and recycling daily, etc. I can only be there part time due to other family and business commitments. On offer is a nice, clean, very large furnished master bedroom that comes with a firm chiropractic king-size bed, walk-in closet and 3-piece ensuite bathroom for $900, reduced from $1100 for. The rent includes all house furnishings. Bedroom comes with dressers/desk/chair/lights/TV with cable, telephone and wireless 300 internet but excludes a reasonable share of utilities You must pay a deposit. Own vehicle strongly preferred, with current drivers licence, and experience towing a trailer would be an asset, but not a deal breaker. We are looking a handy type mature guy to help organize a garage… some painting and light plumbing and electrical/carpentry if able. Must be friendly and communicative and be able to send photos etc. The caretaker assists with household chores, does showings, makes sure chores assigned to the lodgers are done and takes out garbage and recycling daily, etc. Lots of parks/restaurants/shops and a library relatively close by…it’s best if you have a vehicle. OK if you work part or full time, but available evenings *(not all obviously, but in more than away) and present Sunday nights. References required as is half a month’s deposit.
